Fantastic little unit!! I use it for certain things. The padding works wonders for direct input guitar. Mic pre amps are very well designed and invisible. True imp. Thanks for designing a great product. I have active pickups in an instrument and the padding tames the peak clipping and maintains line level. It's my own little direct inject box so to speak lol. 4 channels of it. My hack lol

Speaking of audio: I think the audio of the vid is pretty silent in comparison with other ones.

Behringer UMC404HD will do its job for recording sources, but, given the fact that it also has TRS and XLR outputs, its maximum output level (+3dBU) is insufficient to drive balanced inputs monitors or PA speakers to nominal level (+4dBU) and has no headroom. You may need to use an additional preamp or mixer to raise the gain to a sufficient level.
An audio interface nominal output level should reach at least +4dBU and its maximum output should reach much more to allow for headroom without introducing distortion.
In comparison with other USB audio interfaces, able to deliver output levels of +6dBU, +8dBU, +10dBU or +12dBU, Behringer UMC404HD output levels (1V RMS / 0.78 dBV) are low and similar to consumer Bluetooth output devices.
The only Behringer audio interface able to offer decent output levels is the UMC1820.

Complete newbie here. How does this unit stack up against the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (3rd Gen)? The Focusrite is at the top of my shortlist, but then I saw the Behringer U-PHORIA UMC404HD and naturally it is tempting to get something cheaper that (seemingly) has more functionality/connectivity. Too good to be true?

I reported this a long time ago about how I cannot use the 4 inputs as individual 4 mono channels so I can record 4 mono at once, if this sound card cannot do that on win 10 then it should be seen as 2 inputs, not 4 inputs if I cannot separate them rather than merging 1&2 as one stereo and 3&4 as one stereo, that is not 4 inputs, I wasn't having this issue when I was using win 7, then moved to win 10, but since reported the issue and nothing has been done about it, and that is really discouraging
