I heard this in Berghain afew years ago - its hard to put it into words how it sounded and felt - the opening section sounded much more hard and complex and fucking breathtaking tbh - when the vocals kicked in it was like this massive emotional force that came over the dancefloor - for a place that is wild as fuck - it unified the dancefloor in a very soulful spiritual way - on a Sunday morning - was completely fucking banging!

I love the almost clunky way the vocals always come in with the prince's tracks. Reminds me of when DJ's still played full acapellas over records. They brought them in quick and you could hear the vocal going in and out of time. It sounded very 'live', because it was.

The prince has always treated vocals in a similar way. They come in out of nowhere, they're loud, sometimes they're offbeat.

It's a genius move, because most producers have everything on the grid, expertly mixed to be as unmemorable as possible, so when you hear a a track from the prince, it immediately jumps out at you, and it does the DJ a favor as well, because it sounds live, so the crowd react to both the DJ and the track at the same time, not knowing who's really making it happen.

For someone that never plays out, the prince sure knows how to make music absolutely purpose built for the dance floor.

If you can get your hands on the vinyl record, this track is worth listening at 33RPM. I did this by accident, now I can't listen to it at full speed. The experience is simply mind blowing. You can approximate the effect with Youtube's x0, 75 speed, but the quality is shit and the sound doesn't get pitched down...
