RAMPs v1.4 To 24V

Converting a RAMPs v1.4 to run on 24v instead of 12v. Make sure you have fuses in line or correct poly-fuses. Using a Taurino Power Board eliminates the need to remove the D1 diode due to the fact that it can handle over 24v.

**CAUTION: everything that used to provide 12v on this board will now be 24v, including fan pins

Very good explanation! Recently I bought a ramps board and I realized that the F1 pollyfuse is broken... it has a crack on it... Do you think I could still use this board?

Good video!
I have a question regarding the fuses, I am swithing to 24 volt and would like to replace that fuse with a standard auto fuse so how many amps should the fuse be?

Has this proven to be a reliable setup?  how long have you had it running now?   I am looking to setup a Ramps 1.4 with 8825 stepsticks and want to use 24v bed and tip.  I am familiar with Marlin 1.1.x so this looks like a great way to go.

I don't think the 16 on the fuse is the voltage because on the board that came with my printer there was also a fuse with the number 16 on it but the board was rated for 24 volts and it worked fine at 24 volts

I've been looking for a way to determine if the polyswitch is in fact 16v or 24v. Ive googled and had no luck or anythissng of the sort. How do you tell? It is a 1.4 version board so I assume most of them would all be 16 volts?

Instead of doing it like this, am i right in saying that I can connect the 12V source to X4-3 and X4-4.. and then connect the 24V source to X4-1 and X4-2 (for the heated bed) and ensuring the MFR1100 poly fuse is rated higher than 24V, and then I only remove LED2 or R23, and ensure the Q3 mosfet is sufficiently rated?

Thus, unfortunately I will run 2 power sources.. but it will run the 12V components with 12V, and the heated bed with 24V.

Is this correct? I want to try do this modification tomorrow :)

I'm new to this so quick question so if I leave the diode in the ramps I do not need to supply separate power to the mega board correct and yes I'm leaving it at 12 volts thanks for any help
