Would living under a rock really be such a bad idea? I went to the small town of Setenil de las Bodegas in southern Spain to try it out for myself...

I don't think anyone mentioned it, but I do appreciate the fitting "rock" music.

In Finland, the equivalent phrase for "living under a rock" is either "living in a barrel" or "living in a field". Because it's hard to stay up to date with current events and what's going on in the world if your home is a barrel or a grain field. But the phrase "under the rock" means in Finland that the thing in question is difficult or even impossible to find.

2:29 the fact that the brand of the toilet is "roca" (literally rock in spanish) is quite funny (it's a very popular brand in spain, but still, quite fitting for this house)

When Andalusia was mentioned I first thought it referred to people living in caves in Granada. When I was on vacation there in 2017 I met a Roma who lived in the caves near Albaicín. I am Dutch speaking and he had also lived in the Netherlands for a while. He spoke Dutch fluently next to three other languages! He even gave me a few tips for visiting some of the less touristy spots in Granada. It was truly a very special encounter!

I live in a nearby town to Setenil, before the advent of social media it was a ghost town, literally nobody outside the local area knew it existed, then photos started getting posted on social media and now loads of tourists visit everyday.
It dates back to way before the 1400's, I'm led to believe that it was originally where the Romans based in Ronda used to to store wine and olive oil etc, due to the caves keeping everything cool.

I like the Celsius to Fahrenheit conversion. Easier than multiply, then divide, then take away your age, then stand on your head, or something. It's been a long time since I was at school.

XD he did it again. He snuck in "We will rock you" & "Rock around the clock". Nice ;)

I think you may be interested in knowing that in Trieste reopened the Opicina tramline, it's quite unique as it's half normal city tram and then it rides up a great inclination pushed by a quite unique funicular trolley

I was really hoping for an accordion rendition of the Flintstones theme for the ending of this video! Come on, Tim!

The sountrack is on easy mode. Just the right level of sophistication for those of us who have been living under a rock.

There is a "nearby" town called Arcos de la Frontera that is built ON TOP of a 100m tall rock, it's gorgeous too..

You can find a troglodyte village closer to home in Perrier, near Issoire in the Auvergne. There a layer of soft volcanic rock is overlaid with some harder stuff and the locals hollowed out houses, complete with windows, doors, beds, shelves etc. from the soft rock. They were occupied up until WW2, now more of historic interest - but a fun place to visit if you're passing through the area on the A75!

ngl, the idea of deliberately living under a rock in the metaphorical sense is verrrry appealing right now.
