Garmin Mapsource Installation and Unlock Problems + Dakota 20 System Software Missing

I spent two days mostly on the phone with Garmin trying to get my Mapsource products installed on my new PC and then unlocked to the particular Garmin units I had and then... at some point during this tedious process, my Garmin Dakota 20 operating system disappeared and I have to send it back along with $80 (like this was all my fault), to get it fixed. Pretty disappointed with Garmin.

Trying to load Topo onto new computer. West U.S. works but I can not get East to work. Tried to copy and paste East files to harddrive but no change ? Where did you paste those files onto your harddrive?

Warranty, that IMHO shouldnt be an issue because it was there own product that broke that 20. The Prix!

Agree with you 100%. Have spent a week trying to unlock the maps on the Basecamp for Mac. Nothing works and the map has so little detail I can't plan a route. For goodness sake Garmin - get your *&#$ act together!

as if that is trouble. its just the beginning! after buying the hunk of junk. its too darn complicated to install maps into it! here in the philippines theres an elitist group called roadguide.ph. this group forces you to contribute to an even bigger map for the whole group. helpful? not!
