That same thing happened to me as a young child during an eclipse. I was told that looking at the sun (I interpreted it as just SEEING the sun) could (WOULD!!) make you go blind.

I once took someone who was visiting on a tour of castles and forts and roman ruins. By midday we had been to five castles and had breakfast outside another. By the afternoon we had visited another castle then a roman amphitheatre, roman baths and roman fort and on the way home tried to visit a medieval ship but missed the opening hours.

Re Miles’s bell story - I always walked off. I almost got completely lost in Majorca on a family holiday; and countless times in supermarkets, hardware stores etc. I’d just see big open spaces and keep walking…

That wasn't very nice :-) when Richard was sharing a heart felt story of how he was dumped by his girlfriend in the queue at his workplace at Maccas, and the woman on Lee's team, not Miranda the other woman, said now she knows why he was dumped. Aww that was a horrible thing to say, let's always be kind. Love WILTY.

When my dad was a child, his parents would put a bell on him. He would have to go outside and stay away from the house, when company came. My dad had a cleft palette and a hair lip. So yes, people puts bells on their children.
