120x from 3x optical is basically a 40x digital zoom with 64 Mega pixels.
64 MP would be a screen of 11k times 6k pixel.
Cropping in 40x would be 260 x 130 pixel. So you get an actual resolution of around 244p.

The rest is ai, which works well for texts and the moon.

PS: Im not saying its good or bad, just doing some calculations for clarification.

When comparing the start and end, compare with the 1x zoom. The ultra wide lens makes it seem further away that in really is and you can’t really compare it

Sorta the same thing with my S21 Ultra when zooming in. Tbh anything past x10 is overkill but I bet the 120x makes moon shots look great!

All we want is good photography at 24mm, 35 mm, 50 mm and 85 mm . We never asked smartphone manufacturers for these crazy number zooms .

It is the same thing as my Oppo Reno 10 Pro plus. It has a 64 mp periscope camera and zoom in 120X with 3X optical zoom

Just for those wondering the text was a hit fussy because at those insane levels of zoom even the slightest movement effect the image . So its best to put it on a stand the software can stablize it so much until it cant anymore.

after the photo is taken and image processing is done, you can then zoom in even more 😉.
