I wasn’t diagnosed until 16 maybe? I’m 28 and just now getting the help I need. I’m so glad more people are getting the help they need.

I'm autistic and therapy didn't help they tried to hide my intelligence from me because they thought me knowing a lot of things quickly was bad, and my older sister asked, "isn't that good?" And they kicked her out of the room. My sister and my family are the real reason why I'm out of special ed and I'm in regular classes when I entered in 10th grade.
2020: And I'm headed to a good college.
2022: Did more research and autistic are actually the most creative, even though less social, we tend to be around we can relate to, no matter race or gender, I know cuz I went through it. I'm at a University atm and I'm happy with what I'm doing and who I'm hanging with.

I was diagnosed when I was 2 years old, and hadn't learned to walk or talk until 3. I've lived pretty happy with my diagnosis for 19 years, even though it has it's ups and downs! Was never really social as a kid, I'm still not exactly the best at socializing though I have made some autistic friends, I did and still do have quite a few stimming behaviors, and I can't tolerate loud noises. On the flip side, I know a lot about video games, books and movies and have a unique perspective on the world. I've had rough patches, but I wouldn't trade my autism for anything.

I have autism but I don’t mind it. I’m passing all of my classes, I’m one of the best players on my high school football team, I’m an amateur boxer, and I have a lot of friends. It’s a part of who I am and It will never go away, but I have no shame and I never want it to go away

I have autism. I'm really glad that I have a great friend of fifteen years that helped me in so many ways. Got me talking more. I hardly spoke to people. Because of him, I've learned how to control my anxiety so I can talk to people. Supporters of autism don't know how much they're appreciated.

My son isn't diagnosed yet but it's been scary for me because I want him to live a healthy happy life. The what ifs run through my mind and I feel helpless. Then I get home from work and this kid has a way to make me forget. He's about to be 2 in July and I can honestly say he is everything and more than what I dreamed. Knowing that he might be autistic definitely makes me wasn't to be involved even more than I already am with my sons progress. Reading everyone's comments here I can sence a culture of love with people who have autism or loved ones that have it. I wsnt to thank you all for making my fears go away. I have to be strong I have to be his rock, I have to be the best father I can possibly be. Love you all for all your stories and words of encouragement.

I'm also on the autistic spectrum, and it's been a very hard battle for me, but I live on my own, drive a beautiful car, have a good job, and have a wonderful set of friends at 31. :)

I was diagnosed on the mild side when I was younger.
12 years of therapy, and lots of moments where God showed me and my family mercy later, I'm doing a lot better.
Although it is still a part of me (currently at high functioning), I am grateful about it. It's another part of me.

This video made me cry along with them. Same boat and therapy is amazing. My son was diagnosed through the school district as well. All the emotions.. just want him to be happy and know he can do anything he wants to.😢👍

If this is Jackson’s story, why isn’t he the one telling it?

My son Aiden was diagnosed with autism in August. Initially I didn’t know what to think and I still struggle with it. But Im going to do whatever I can to help him. We’ve been fortunate to start early intervention with speech. Everyday is different some good some bad. He future is bright 🙂 I recently decided to start a channel and vlog about our experiences.

I was diagnosed with autism when I was about four years old. I too got OT and speech therapy when I was little. The speech therapy carried on through high school. We people with autism do have our challenges. The biggest challenge is socializing. I remember as a little kid I would socialize more with adults than kids. It was hard, but over time I overcame that. I still do have challenges socializing with others. The thing I’m trying to work on is finding a girlfriend. Many of my friends are already married and have families. For me, and those with autism, it’s harder and takes some time. What would be interesting to me would be to find a girl who is on the spectrum as well. I have heard of many autism dating websites, and I am thinking of registering on one of them. Hopefully I can find the right one for me, and have a bright future ahead of me.

I’m 17 years old and autistic. My sensory things and triggers don’t matter to me...but I’m just like you. I like fashion and reading and video games. I love music and am in a choir. I stargaze and dream and dance like any other. All we want is acceptance. It’s okay to approach me with questions, but please remember we don’t like being stared at or treated as lesser beings ^^
