JCB telescopic handler gets Special Escort Group treatment

Metropolitan Police Special Escort Group (SEG) escorting a JCB on a low-bed trailer for the Met's Protest Removal Team (PRT) during climate protests in London. The vehicle was used to remove Extinction Rebellion protesters from the top of a oil tanker in Bayswater.

For those confused why it got an escort, it is hired Police equipment operated by SEG used to assist in the removal of persons higher up and tow heavy vehicles used by climate protesters hence why SEG gave it the escort. Plus it needed to be guarded by officers to prevent people claiming on it to prevent it from being used

Reminded Me of the time I had to move a 1938 Double Deck Bus, for which I didn’t have a Drivers Licence, under an Eight Motorcycle Police Escort with Four Police Officers downstairs and another Eight Upstairs.

Two Weeks later I got a notification from the Department of Transport that My Drivers Licence had been adjusted to include Double Deck Buses.

Would make for an interesting story if a pack of SEG bikers pulled up beside you at the lights, asked where you were going, then proceeded to block off junctions and guide you down the wrong side of the road 😁

It would've been easier to use rubber bullets, tear gas and flash-bangs. Make their nesting place uninabitable. The charges of economic sabotage with 10 years in the slammer (an offense I've just invented)

Interesting to see the police driver of the rear escort vehicle driving with his elbow on the window ledge. Not only poor driving, it's against the Construction and Use Regulations.
