My father was a British prisoner of war in Germany WW2 the Russian prisoners on the other side of the wire to them had nothing so the British would throw food and warm clothing to them, we were allies then pity politicians mess things up, I live in liverpool UK we've had many visits from Russian ships to the city and were always made welcome, very friendly people the russians
