Harris personally introduced Walz on stage, hailing him as a “fighter for the middle class” and touting a biography Democrats hope will broaden the ticket’s appeal to working-class voters during a rally in Philadelphia.

The two are slated to follow with visits to Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Detroit, Michigan; Phoenix, Arizona; and Las Vegas, Nevada — destinations critical to determining November’s election outcome.

Harris aims to supercharge her campaign with polls showing she has eliminated the advantage Trump held much of the summer when he faced President Joe Biden. An NPR/PBS News/Marist poll released Tuesday found Harris leading Trump 51% to 48% among registered voters nationally.
