Hello this is Alejandra. I am so beyond grateful to be given a platform for my voice to be heard. I am so passionate about this because my life has been an upwards struggle because of my relationship with food. Again thank you for hearing my story! It’s so possible to fight a good fight and end up alive and well!! We got this my friends.

11:17 "If your grocery store has a "health food section", what does that make the rest of the store?" Tough one.

“Food can either be the safest form of medicine or the slowest form of poison” what an amazing quote!

When I was living paycheck to paycheck, I realized that buying dry legumes was a lifesaver. Think beans and rice, chickpeas, lentils, etc. It's affordable, healthy, and lasts a few meals/days (depending on how much you cook).

Student From the UK, One thing that seems to be majorly different with the states is the price of Home food. Fast Food for me is expensive, my average meal at home costs half that of the cheapest items in fast food chains. I don’t understand how eating at home can be more expensive than fast food.

My youngest son cut sugar out of his diet this past year. He lost 90 pounds just by cutting the sugar, I started reading the labels, and I was shocked at how much sugar alone is in ALL of our foods!! We take our vitamins etc. I was so unaware of all the bad ingredients until I started reading the labels!!
Thank you, guys, for bringing the awareness to your platform!! 👏 Y'all are the greatest, I have been watching y'all for years now. However, this was one of the best for us Americans!!
✌️💜
Happy New Year!! Bring on a healthy, happy 2025 to everyone who reads this!!! 🎊🎇🎉🎆

something that isn’t mentioned is when growing up people are trained to finish everything on their plate no matter. a habit like eating when you’re already full contributes a lot in my opinion

The US used to teach nutrition, meal planning, food storage (canning, fermenting, drying, etc.), household budgeting, and cooking in classes called Home Ec, or home economics. A lot of school districts did away with them between the 1980s and now because of budget issues, lower demand, lack of political support, and the offensiveness of routing girls to Home Ec and boys to Wood Shop or Auto Shop or Drafting. We need to bring those classes back, based on best available science, and make them required for everyone.

Thanks for a great year of videos y'all. I hope your holiday season is full of joy and next year is even better.

Nobody asked but over the last year and a half I went from weighing 295 lbs to 180 lbs through clean eating and exercise. It's true when people say it's 80% what you eat and 20% working out. I tried losing weight for 6 months by just exercising and eating the same crap I had always been but only lost 15 lbs. When I started taking my food choices more seriously, the lbs shed off inconceivably fast. I'm fortunate enough to have options and be able to afford them. In my case it was more of a mental battle. For anyone going through this journey as well, keep your head up and keep grinding. The only obstacle in your way is yourself. When you truly want something, nothing can stop you. Nevertheless, change needs to be made to the US Food Industry

I think I needed to hear this one guys. Not that this isn't a message that i've heard my whole life but I'm currently a 27yo 5' 11'' and 285lbs american man. I feel horrible most days both inside and out. Most of the time people comment on my weight which I try to brush off, but it hurts when its every day. I know i need to do better, I guess I just didn't understand how the cards were kinda stacked against me in a lot of ways. I've recently been staying with my SO in the UK and just seeing the difference in quality and concern for public health makes me want to make a positive change, and being in love will make you want to love past 30 thats for sure. I'm sorry it's taken me this long to get it together, i've been taking it one step at a time and I hope I can keep trending positively through the future for myself, my friends and family who care about me, and to show others that its possible. I can do this. Yes theory has always been a big inspiration to me, to be a better human not just myself but for others. I appreciate you guys and your continued positivity.

A major solution is gardening. Individual, neighborhood, school and community gardens can grow a lot of food for almost nothing. Add water collection and people can self sustain.

George Orwell explains in Road to Wigan Pier, that when individuals are "underfed, harassed, bored, and miserable, " they naturally seek out "something a little bit 'tasty'" to provide comfort. This often results in a diet centered around "white bread and margarine, corned beef, sugared tea, and potatoes, " which he describes as "an appalling diet." The book was published in 1936

So so happy to see Casey & Callie Means becoming more well known! As a nurse for over 4 decades, I am appalled at the poor quality of food served to hospital patients. Boost & Ensure are high fructose corn syrup crap! I'm reading Casey's book right now!

Thanks for this. I’ve been beating this drum of self care. Changing what’s was on m fork in 2015 allowed me to put many ailments in my rear view mirror. Now at 69, I feel great. I’m heathy.

And one thing I say to myself when I see people chronically overweight, I remind myself to say “ it’s not your fault” “ you were taught to eat this way”. Let’s all share compassion . And as this message is getting into the mainstream, more and more, is so important.

While I understand the issue of obesity, it has to be stressed that too many people are ignorant on what overall health is. Many "skinny/slim" people are in horrible health. A healthy lifestyle is more than how much you weigh.
