Can we all just appreciate how long it took for Cherno to fully set up? Like, you see the engine and the power core taking like a good 30 seconds while crimson in the background took like 3 seconds.

3:55 always love hearing striker hydraulic working, making it look like to us as the fastest jaegers while also implying the jaegers are still heavy

I get that a movie's time is precious due to the lack of it, but Cherno and Crimson really deserved more than get worf'ed like that. They're 2 of the last 4 Jaegers in existence, they were all legends in their own right. They should have had more contribution to the fight, like Typhoon chopping off one of Otachi's limbs and Cherno knocking Leatherback around a bit so it couldn't charge up its EMP.

I hope we see a sequel/spinoff one day that shows just how legendary these last few Jaegers were.

2:30 I love the Soviet style music as Cherno drops the elbow on Otachi. You can feel the weight of a walking nuclear reactor dropping on its face

A little detail: Cherno Alpha has a "fake head" which mostly used for cooling systems, the real cockpit is in the torso, maybe that's why the Cherno keep fighting for 6 years straight. After the drift from Newt, the alien knows exactly where the cockpit is as well as they could drown them (due to the old pilot suit doesn't have design for fighting underwater or maybe they're so cocky, they didn't need one), you could see Leather Back destroy the cockpit at their torso's mech.

4:53 Cherno's hand shaking while helplessly trying to rise just made this 100x more disturbing and saddening. Really shows how brutal these fights are. Truly a fight or die situation.

Im not the only one who loves that even though Cherno was seriously injured from the acid they still tried to fight off the first one
But they couldn't do anything else to Leatherback

I love the fact that even though Striker is the fastest jaeger it still seems not too fast due to the water which just adds to the realism

A prequel with Cherno Alpha, Crimson Typhoon and Coyote Tango would be the best thing they could do with the franchise after 12 years with no other movies.

I love Cherno and Typhoon but I wish we got another fight scene with them included.
It’s unfortunate that typhoon’s crew seems to be unfocused and uncoordinated, possibly due to the third pilot. This is demonstrated when one of them says “movement on the right” and then typhoon looks to the left. Typhoon also seems to be generally unprepared when Otachi springs out of the water, she doesn’t even attempt to brace for the impact. Another nitpick is Cherno not using her incinerator turbines, which would have been cool and could have been useful against Otachi, but sadly the Kaiju were substantially underestimated.

Can I just say: the moment when Crimson Typhoon was being lifted from the hangar with the heroic war theme as the faceless cyclops head ascended, and Cherno Alpha dropping down to the sea and hearing their reactors igniting as they were slowly standing straight, and looking at Crimson Typhoon being dropped off in the background. Give me shivers everytime

4:09 imo this is straight up the best shot in the whole movie, it is insane... Not just for like what's happening in the shot, but like the water being illuminated by the helicopter search lights and the kaijus bioluminescence, the huge tidal spray of water as Leatherback leaps up out of the bay and how the music just goes completely silent, leaving nothing but the sound of the full 10 seconds long shot of uninterrupted carnage on screen...

I like how when one of the pilots of Crimson Typhoon said enemy to the right, the other two looked to the left and it took another scream before they corrected themselves. The true enemy was their own teammates all along.

What i love about this scene is that when cherno first swings you can hear the WOOSH of the wind. That punch has some serious force behind it.

Tbh being a jeager pilot is the most dangerous job in the pacific rim universe each kaiju battle you enter your not guaranteed to survive. R.I.P to cherno and typhoon

No one talking about the sheer durability of the Kaiju? Otachi took one hell of a beating, and still gave Gipsy a run for her money.

I love how the main crux of every Pacific Rim battle was the showcase of absolute and sheer power from the jaegers. Which made the movie as great as it still is today 😭♥️
