Who even shoots triangles from guard any more? The whole triangle meta has changed, the majority of the triangles the guys catch come from the back or from top position. Craig Jones, Nick Rodriguez, Nicky Ryan, Ethan Crelinsten and Damien Anderson use a variety of set-ups for the triangle in this 12-minute compilation video.

A triangle choke is a submission hold in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). It is a technique where one person, the attacker, wraps their legs around the opponent's neck and head, while using their arm to press against the opponent's throat. The goal of the technique is to restrict blood flow to the opponent's brain, causing them to pass out or submit. It is a common technique used in BJJ competition and training, and is considered to be one of the most effective submission holds in grappling.

In no-gi BJJ, the triangle choke is a powerful and versatile submission. Grapplers will often use the triangle choke as a way to set up other submissions or as a way to sweep their opponent and take a dominant position. In no-gi BJJ, the triangle choke can be applied from a variety of positions, such as the guard, mount, side control, the back, and even from standing. Many fighters will also use the triangle choke in combination with other submissions, such as an armbar or an omoplata, to increase the chances of finishing the match.

The triangle choke, also known as the sankaku-jime in Japanese, is a traditional technique in Judo and one of the first submissions taught in BJJ. The triangle choke is a fundamental technique in both Judo and BJJ, and it's one of the few techniques that have been consistently used and passed down from the early days of Judo to the present. The triangle choke is a versatile submission hold that can be used from many positions, and it's considered one of the most effective submission holds in ground fighting.

Glad to see more triangles! Our MMA school has been emphasizing them as our main weapon from mount and back control for years now, it is a super solid plan.

Such a great transition from the body lock! And interesting how it's more about joint locks than chokes

I watched John danahers triangle from the back video right before this. And it is so crazy to see Nicky do it exactly the same way.

Reminds me of Vagner Rocha's americana from back triangle. You can also hip up and over and catch the legs while you have the triangle. Trash compactor. Really compresses the guy since you fold them in half while in the triangle. From 50 50 of the arms.

Hey I've been working these back triangles for a few months on the mat and their very useful. U just have to learn how to pull the slack out of the triangle by butt scooting back and grabbing their leg to crunch em lol.
