Very handy for when your armor gets splashed by xenomorph blood.

"Look, see, if you pop him right in the center, he openes up like a pinata!"

There was only one reason we used the quick releease, and that person generally didn't need to worry about putting it together again.

In the Marines we used to pull each other's ALICE pack quick release straps right when the command to march was about to be given. Pretty hilarious; seeing this vest reminds of those times. God bless.

I'm using this in my D&D campaign when one of the players casts Heat Metal on the dark knight's armor.

Is there a safety or a pull pin to prevent accidents?
Looks like a bump and snag hazard.

As someone who used to do stunts the first thing I thought of was "you could do a pretty wicked scene where a guy smacks that jawn hard enough for the armor to fly off and then he just shoots ya", I mean its probably got uses but I immediately thought of a theatrical way for it to get ya shot.

The armour drop reminds me of halo Spartans.

Real question since we're talking about armor: what happens if the activation lever is struck by a projectile? The last thing you'd want while under fire is your armor and any other equipment attached to it flying off and onto the ground.

For as well known ian is for forgotten or historical firearms its clear he has an interest in futuristic weapons and gear as well. I hope one day hell get to review a future gauss rifle or energy weapon thats some how runs only on french electricity.

Looking at that quick release mechanism, all I can say is - watch out for your toes!! Plates are heavy! 😂😂

I feel like this may be overthinking it. The gen4 iotv has this pretty well figured out with cable actuated buckles

Buy the Integris Body Armor.

Buckles in the exact wrong spot for the buttstock of your rifle...especially if you're prone or using an optic where eye relief matters. Quick release in the spot where someone would be lifting a rifle mag from a pouch.

Reminds me of a scene in The Expanse show where B. Draper is rescued from the surface of Ganymede. Awesome.

You know I watched this thought of the guys I know who have served and can imagine everyone of them trying to sneak up and release there mates plates for giggles in training.

Seeing it is cable activated instead of linkage is very good, also means glancing blows might not be enough to completely deactivate it, along with the semi detach allowing the side of the body with a certain vital organ to be damaged helps too
