Today I learned that Clint's Reptile Room is less than 15 minutes away from where I lived. I've been bingewatching this channel over the last few weeks as I've recently become enamored with reptiles and the was one of my favorite places to learn about them

I wouldn't even downplay the legislation as endangering the "hobby." It literally endangers your, and many orhers', livelihoods.

I have been wanting to tell you something too, sir. Mostly: Thank you.

And to explain exactly what I mean, I need to go on a bit of a tangent. See, I was born with a rare form of Juvenile Arthritis that I was never fortunate enough to grow out of.

I'm now approaching 40 years on this beautiful planet and the longer I am here, the less of it my disease is letting me see. Not only am I majoridly bedridden, on the rare occasions I _can_ go anywhere, I can only do so for either 3 minutes, or I need a wheelchair. This pretty much includes the bathroom, the living room and back, the kitchen, and that's it. I tried to make it outside without my chair a few years back. I literally could not make it out the door before my legs gave out on me. Either it's just too painful to walk, or my legs just can't hold me.

So that makes herping impossible at this point. It also makes owning most of my favourite reptile friends is right out the window. My hubby is a half a step from being an anti-reptile guy and I can't morally ask him to take care of something he only is ok living with because he loves me more than he dislikes them. So I can't morally also ask him to take care of it.

That's where my son comes in. We're getting a snake. We're going to get your favourite, BEL ball python. He wants a pet, loves animals, and learned the BEL is a dream snake of mine. So he started saving for that. Hubby and I decided we would get the enclosure if he was serious about saving up enough for a BEL. After many birthmases, he is nearly there. I'll teach him how to take care of it, I'll get to spend quality snuggle time with little Sans, and the snake will still belong to our son so I won't have to worry about not being able to do the actual maintenence. I would love to get the snake from you but feel I heard you don't ship out of country and I'm just 3 hours north of being "in-country" to you.

Anyway, back to my point. The only way I get to experience a reptile is that snake, and possibly my own after my son moves out in approximately 6 years. (O.O god is it really only 6 years?! Wow. Ooof.)

*SO* I am so incredibly greatful for you and people like you. You go out and do all these amazing things and you take the time and care to get the most amazing footage and bring it back to us in a lovingly packaged, hilariously worded compilation of videos. You clearly love and are clearly in awe of these amazing animals and that love and awe is incredibly infectious. Despite the pain I have to live with every second of my life, you (and people like you, mostly also Emily and Ed from Snake Discovery, and a little sprinkling of the Koffman) give me a small window of time where the "ow" turns to "aww" and in less frequent occasions awe.

You guys bring me places I can't physically get to, even when you're just taking us to Koffman point, or Florida. I have been to Florida twice, once I remember, and I got to swim with dolphins. I did so again, and on the same trip snorkled in an actual coral reef, in Cuba, I was nearly "saved" and swam to shore by one of them that second time because of my arthritis and the insane seeming talent they seem to have to sense ailments in humans. Otherwise, I got to see lizards outside for my first time ever on that first trip. Other than that, people here who have a job like what Emily used to do before she had the zoo, and trips to the zoo that I haven't been well enough to make for so many years now, you guys arey only way to interact with this amazing wildlife. So again for the billionth time, thank you. It means SO *SO* *_SO_* much just that you are you, and thoughtful enough to record it for us.

I also wish I could be a patron, but as you can imagine, being disabled is not a very lucrative career choice. I give it an over all score of 1/10. Terrible handleability. Do NOT recommend. Lol. Seriously though, I would be surprised if anyone offered more than what I've seen come out of yours. You can really tell that you care about people nearly as much as you do all other animals. I mean I don't blame you, we kinda suck as a species. But you still do what you can to make us happy.

Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for taking me with you, because I can't do it on my own, and wothout people like you, I wouldn't be able to see the world like this at all. ♡♡♡

Wouldn't miss it. The more we make noise the more the info will spread, and we need it to spread. This effects not just the reptile hobby, but all non-traditional pet owners.

Call or write your senators to let them know you feel about legislation BEFORE it comes up for a vote. You have two senators representing the state you live in, reach out to both of them.

Hey, so for the Bill issue, I came up with a pretty massive idea that I think could work. I told the All Canadian Reptile Girl about the idea already, as I thought of it while watching her latest video.

Idea:

Get all the HerpTubers (I just came up with that name now, feel free to use it lol) to make a short part of a video where they talk about how this could affect them, their loved ones, their family members (heck, get as many kids in the thing as possible) their viewers, the communities as a whole, the planet for pete's sake! Then, send them to the person who wants to head this thing and get them to put all the footage together to make one mega animal positive video with everyone. Then post it in everyone's channel. At the same time if you can. I really feel like that would make a massive impact! I also say don't stop at reptiles. Get people like Emzotic on, I know Clint at least has access to her. Get the tiktok pet people in on it too, heck, put the famous pets on. Have them sad that as a dog they can travel, but that their turtle sister and bird brother have to be left behind! I have a lot of ideas if anyone needs them for something like this and I'm unwell but willing to help to the extent of my ability.

2 of my 3 snakes I would not have gotten if this legislation was in effect. My MBK came from a breeder in Florida (I live in Michigan) and my Cave Dwelling Rat Snake originally came from a breeder in Europe, and I bought him from a keeper in Georgia. Scary to think of the threats that face this amazing hobby now. Obviously protecting native species is important, but such a broad ban is not even close to being it

Yes I did! And I got to hold her, she's amazing. Bring back regular live streams!

We cannot allow the Lacey Amendments to become law. And if they do, we must organize and seek to have them repealed. This bill would destroy the hobby. Please, if you haven't, write, call, or email your senator and urge them to remove the Lacey Amendments!

Raptor is Joseph Carter’s baby! I’m glad he was able to home her with you. Joe is doing amazing things training his mink Boon and others and his dogs especially Bindi. She is so smart! See ya Saturday Clint!
