This is the most useful explanation of sprained ankles I have found. If you haven’t already, more information on proper braces and bracing practices would be very useful. Lots of crazy info out there.

I am a teacher and sprained my ankle a year ago while coming down the stairs. Xray showed no fracture but MRI showed inflammatory synovitis with mild ankle joint effusion. I had no option to quit the job at that time, so I took no rest and kept working all days. I used to get cramps and pain while standing, walking, climbing stairs and swelling by the end of the day. The injury became more serious and I had to quit the job. It's been almost 2 months now I have been resting at home. But still I can't walk properly and my ankle shows stiffness, redness, swelling and burning pain. I can climb the stairs but can't go down the stairs easily. It really hurts. I feel hopeless and helpless thinking that my ankle has been permanently damaged. Not understanding what to do.... totally fed up now.☹️😫

Hi, I suffered a high ankle sprain but neglected to have my ankle immobilized. Opting for just resting it. After about a month and a half of rehabbing my ankle back into condition, I can perform everyday tasks with no pain. However when I try to re-engage in sports related activities I feel discomfort in my ankle. Not enough to be unbearable but just enough to be noticeable. I never push my ankle too far but I’m beginning to wonder if this is normal and a natural progression to becoming fully healthy or if this is a sign that there is a bigger underlying problem. I’ve never had a lower body injury and it is a very different feel. I would appreciate any advice you have. Thank you

Hello sir
I used to train and play football. But from past 5 years I can't play due to pain in heels. My both heels pains from the inner side. When I wake up in the morning the pain is severe but as I the day goes on the pain reduces a little bit. The severity of pain increase as I run. Please guide and advise

I really think I sprained my ankle maybe fracture bot not likely but the nurse literally looked at it for 10 seconds and said I just rolled it and no X-ray needed. What should I do

Do you think it is still recommended to immobilize a high ankle/syndesmosis injury that occurred 5 months ago but went diagnosed, where the patient is still able to walk but with some pain (after too much walking)? Your thoughts would be helpful!
