Split under Belgium and the Netherlands, the St. Pietersburg cave system runs 155 miles. Farmers started mining the cave's limestone to help build houses, which resulted in a vast tunnel system. The Dutch also built a fort above the caves to help protect from French attacks. Later, the tunnels would also lead to major scientific discovery and be used to hide Dutch relics during Nazi invasion.

Do you know shots can last more than 1 second, right? Painfull and ridiculous editing.

If you don't already have ADHD, you will get it after seeing programmes edited like this. Jeez, almost unwatchable.

Sorry, but I had to give a negative rating. I can't stand all the quick cuts, jump cuts and jerky camera movement. It's all too irritating to watch.

Are there caves in the Netherlands? The location is below sea level, right?
It's funny how you can drive 99% of the country without seeing even a small hill; the only places with elevation are the very southern tip's three points.

I couldn't watch this with all the ridiculous camera and transition effects... Whoever created this should find another line of work... This was beyond unwatchable...

Why are US documentaries so repetitive and dumbed down? This is better than most, in fairness, but it's aimed at about a 12 year old level. Is that the target audience, or does it just reflect the likely cognitive capacity of a US consumer of content?

The carving looks a bit like the luck dragon from The Never Ending Story

That was the singularly most frustrating piece of supposedly educational rubbish I have ever watched. Almost zero actual information of the subject matter. Multiple snap visuals of the same images and not even a decent closing summary. Why was it even posted other than as click bait.

Sint-Pietersburg hill limestone deposit is part of the same system that deposited the White Cliffs of Dover. Which is dated Late Cretaceous => 66 million years.

Typical science, you have to listen to 10 minutes of crap to get to the meat.

When I saw, "Netherlands cave, " I knew something wasn't right. It's a mine or quarry; use the right terms or stop labeling your content as, "science."

The first 39 seconds are such outrageously lazy nonsense that the remaining 12. something minutes can never compensate for that.

So much bs to wade through to get to the point! Over half way through before you even start to talk about it. Moronica Forever.

Not a great video for facts. These are not caves, they are mine tunnels. It states "limestone formed over 2 million years ago", yet the fossil is over 60 million years old.

The editing and presentation of this video are way over the top. Cringe-worthy.
