History is the recording of the human mind. It is a store or a record of what it has done. Modern means of recording increase the lifespan and quality of our collective long-term memory. Honestly, I think at the bottom of all of our historicizing is a motivation tied to a salvatory promise. We wish to be delivered and transform undesirable inevitable outcomes into optional outcomes through "progress". The goal of history is to overcome fate and allow man to reclaim a fuller destiny for himself.

I feel like McKennas only view I disagree with is his idea that masculine dominance has failed us and that the feminine is the way to go. The path ahead is to bring the two into harmony, a hermaphroditic future where we can all embrace our masculine and feminine side. A world where masculine has been disconnected from "male" and feminine has been disconnected from "female" and we see that they are just different energies that we all have varying amounts within us.
