Holy Communion

Friends, St. John Henry Newman said, “Man is not sufficient for his own happiness; he is not happy except the Presence of God be with him.”

God desires to share his life with us, and so meets us—really, truly, and substantially—through Holy Communion.

The Eucharist is our greatest treasure on earth, and our greatest hope for heaven.

Our lives are incomprehensible apart from the gentle call of God’s love, and he calls to us through the Eucharistic mystery.

This is no merely earthly call, but a summoning to an encounter with the real and living God.

Glimmering from the lamps of countless sanctuaries throughout two millennia, God’s presence in Christ illumines our souls in unbroken light.

He is silent; he is hidden; but he is here.

I was a little lost without Holy Communion during the quarantine. I made it through with spiritual communion and virtual Mass, and A LOT OF PRAYING/chatting with God. Only in God!

In these times of pandemic I have tried to participate in the Eucharist by making spiritual communion but something immense is still MISSING!! The act of faith in the communion as a physical act is sacred, and more than a symbolic act it is an intense reflection, of pure, unconditional and divine love for Jesus Christ in order to transform our lives that involves unity between us and God. 💕 Thank you 🙏.

Great video Bishop. The Vicar of my Archdiocese compared the Holy Eucharist as to "filet mignon" for us Catholics and not really all we need. It made me sad that he compared our Lord to a fancy meat. Love your video. Thank you.
