Is the New 9-Inch Varla Pegasus Better than the Original?

The new version of the Varla Pegasus electric scooter has 9 inch, tubeless pneumatic tires! Is this a strict upgrade or are the 8 inch wheels still better?

No offense but I put over 900 miles on my pegasus and here in California I had 0 issues riding in dirt etc through canal banks.. only thing that slow it down is actual mud. I'm on year 2 of my pegasus and the hubs are still going strong, if anyone an expert on the machine it's me, only issues I had thus far are the breaks and crap mud fenders as they snap off over time, also the stem gets loose after a while and I lost all stearing damper but it hasn't effect the ride quality. I've ran over branches easily and rocks in this thing.

I'm super late to this, but did you do a range test for the pneumatic tire version? Reports are that usually they get longer range than solids.

Have the V8 that I need to send back because of electrical issues. Customer services was horrible. I wanted the same model because of the solid tires. What other brand/ model would you recommend for solid tires? Getting the V9 scares me because I don’t want to get flats. I base all my purchases on your reviews because you really know your stuff. If you remove the mug guards you can put big tires on this scooter which makes the ride a lot smoother...10" & 11" will work with no problem...10" tires are just right ...

I love this scooter pretty nice! Owned alot of hyper scooters and this I’ve had fun off road on single track mtb trails lol could never do that comfortably with 72v scooter that weighs 110 or whatever lol ahits dope I’m stoked with it

Are you sure its just as fast?? I hear it's slower than the older versions because Varla realized there were too many issues with the output power so they limited it.

I recently purchased the Varla Pegasus scooter, and upon unboxing, I discovered that both tires were completely flat. I used a portable electric air compressor to inflate them, and while the front tire has held air without issue, so far as least, the rear tire has gone completely flat again after just a few days of sitting unused. This is frustrating, and I don't know what exactly the issue is. I suspect the tires already had issues since they were both flat right out of the box. I've already contacted Varla support about this, but I haven't gotten a response yet. What do you guys think I should do?

Hello I have the solid tire version if you have the solid tire version of the Pegasus you cannot upgrade to the 9-in tires the motors are different. The solid tire version is not compatible for the 9-in tires. That's coming straight from varla customer service. You cannot switch the tires.

30 miles on mine. It's a serious beefy ride. I did an endurance test and it was SHOCKING! It just stops! The wheel stops spinning, the screen goes blank and just shuts off. You get about .2 tenths of a mile warning and it is serious. It was so abrupt it made me laugh. Fortunately, I rolled right to my front door. I would call it a Mustang GT!

So I've had a Varla Pegasus 9 for about 2 or 3 months now. I've noticed that there is some stem wobble now. Can you inform me on how I retighten the stem so it doesn't have that wobble any longer?
