When is Providence going to be released from the publisher? It's a month overdue already.

John Piper is right to stress God's all-pervasive providence.
But this doesn't mean that human beings have no free will at all. God sovereignly and providentially chose to create people with free will.
Right from the beginning of Genesis we see this principle in operation. In Gen 2:19 God brings each animal to Adam 'to see what he would call it'. This implies that Adam has free will.

It is true that free will today is greatly reduced and damaged by sin. And it is true too that no one can choose Christ for salvation without a supernatural work of God (John 6:44). But it is a mistake to think that God's all-encompassing providence means that there is no such thing as human free will.
