This is absolutely invaluable for mapping out and understanding the fretboard, thank you Jack!

From watching your lessons recently I've realized the importance of reducing everything down to thinking in triads as the the way to go. Even in this lesson, when playing the arpeggios it's very helpful to just think in terms of small groups of triads. In the past I could burn through all of the larger patterns (having been raised on Paul Gilbert and Yngwie) but everything quickly falls apart when asked to play a simple sounding melody from one note to the next over the chords. This is the way to do it. Glad I found your channel.

New subscriber here. This blew my mind! I can play scales and arpeggios up and down and in and out all day long on my trumpet, but as a newish guitar player, this will drive my practice for the next month or more. THANK YOU! 🎺 🎸

Jack, absolutely love your lessons. Your touch and feel are second to none. I do have a request, if I may though: can you occasionally do lessons on technique, such as improving alternate picking and left-right hand synchronicity? I know your lessons are focused on musical concepts, but just thought I'd ask 🙂

Hi Jack. Thanks for another great lesson. Slowly I am hearing the cords and single notes. With lots of slow and methodical practice, these things do start to reveal themselves. 😃

One question : when you talk about the 5 positions, this is the same position of the caged system ? To continue the connection 😉
Best wish to you

I've been playing this 2 5 1 for many years, but I just now learned some real connective DNA for it.

Now all I have to do is fix up my shit timing. 🙄 😃

Thanks brother. 😊 🫡
