This is a helpful and fun lesson for those who need to break out of the same old rut stuck playing the same old beats. We break down a linear beat that incorporates the hi hat, ride cymbal, snare, and kick all in the same groove. It will force you to give your weaker hand a little more responsibility without sacrificing the main use of your other hand. It has a funk feel with a driving force and is very catchy to play. This groove will challenge your limbs to stay on pulse as you dance between the ride and hi hat, but is not too complicated to learn for drummers new to linear grooves.
