Fun fact about the grafting process that’s unknown by most- grafting is a process you can do between two trees, growing a branch from one tree on another through attachment. It seems like his idea to graft may have been inspired by the Erdtree?

it would be really exciting if the DLC turns out to be in the past, and we are able to see godwyn alive, radahn before the rot got to him, rykard before becoming one with the serpent, godrik before the grafting, ranni in her original body. I think that being able to encounter any of these would be so cool

What I find interesting is when he is defeated the only thing that remains is a head and chest of godrick, which I believe is because most of his grafted body is that of tarnished so when he is killed the tarnished bodies turn to dust but godrick himself stays as he is a distant relative to a tarnished.

Godrick, no matter what the other characters in the game say about him, will always have my respect.

Compared to his demigod cousins, 30ft tall Radahn, Malenia rot lady, even Moghwyn and Morgot, Godrick was straight up basically just a normal dude. He still managed to survive until he met us, and he never gave up on his ambitions. Mans had a goal!

And Kenneth Haight ain't got no room to swing either he couldn't even manage to hold on to a flimsy little tower in the ass end of Limgrave.

I think what enabled Godrick to graft people is probably his Anchor Rune, which stays in the center, figuratively and perhaps literally "grafting" other Great runes together.

the grafted dragon head coming back to life is one of the top 5 grossest things I've ever seen in a game. it's so gruesomely realistic, the way its slack jaw moves and its empty eye sockets try to look around as it wakes up

So I actually think the practice of grafting originated with the Gargoyles of the Capital, who were repaired using corpse wax and other body parts to replace their missing limbs, or even parts of the faces, as evident by their models.

It's clear this practice isn't long last either, as we can see by all the abandoned Gargoyles, so it would make sense that Godrick would have to keep adding more limbs and other body parts to keep his meat mech together
