Co-founder of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Floyd Shivambu has dumped the party for the MK Party. Shivambu announced his resignation from the EFF during a media briefing. EFF MP Mzwanele Manyi has also dumped the party for the MK Party. Manyi joined the EFF in 2023 from the ATM. Political analyst Prince Mashele says Shivambu was the brains behind the EFF and the party is now left with Julius Malema who is just the face .

Prince Mashele articulated Shivambo's move very well except for the overexaggeration that Malema is an empty head who brings nothing to the table. Glad that the interviewer added that Malema is a mobiliser. There is no conspiracy. It is a fallout between two people who know so much about each other. Shivambo and the gang have been playing puppets for so long with no prospects of advancement, batteries were bound to die. I feel for Adv Busisiwe Mkhwebane, but maybe she has the energy for puppeteering. Shivambo had no option but to seek refuge in a party dealing with teething problems of its own. Shivambo is like Shilowa, waking up to find that he is a nobody in the party he co-founded. Malema is like Lekota, holding on to the helm until. Most of the people here may not know who Shilowa is.
