The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Cincinnati Reds 4-3 at PNC Park on August 17. Luis Ortiz pitched six scoreless innings. Yasmani Grandal hit a walk-off two-run homer in the 9th inning to secure the win.

Really wish they had not had that 10 games losing streak that came from nowhere. Completely destroyed their postseason chances.

Having that 10 game losing streak because Bednar can't come in a make the save's and Cruz's errors honestly costed us a chance at the postseason.

The Pirates have some quality starting pitching. Bullpen is another story. Bednar has been an absolute disaster. Can't hang a season on one guy, but stats don't lie. (5.56 ERA). Jalen Beeks is top-3 in blown saves.

* IF * the Pirates had gone 5-5 instead of 0-10, they'd be 67-63 and fighting for a wild card spot. Yeah, yeah, I know, if's and but's, candy and nuts.

This team is also hitting NOWHERE near as good as they should. (Hitting coach can follow Bednar out the door at the end of the season IMO)
