The Body Shop UK enters administration threatening more than 2,000 jobs and 100 shops

The UK arm of The Body Shop has entered administration, threatening stores and more than 2,000 jobs.

As first reported by Sky News, FRP Advisory has been brought in to handle a restructuring process just weeks after the new owners took control of the cosmetics retailer.

I was shocked by the fact it was sold to L'oreal in the first place. Many of the products have been fiddled with and are not the same. Yet another good business model wrecked, for the sake of profit.

The quality of the products have changed and not for the better...it is not a product worth buying anymore

I buy Body Shop stuff every christmas as a treat, because I cant afford to use them as an everyday product. When I was a young girl from 14 to mid 20s Body Shop was an everyday brand, I had tonnes of the stuff. Every smelly product I owned was this brand. Loreal made it a higher end store and drove away its core market. I'm sad 😢

That's a shame. I was part of the generation of teenaged girls who went around in 90s in a perma-fog of White Musk perfume spray, banana hair conditioner, rum and butter lip balm and Dewberry body cream 😂

Problem with BS is that it may have good intentions but over the years their prices have increased too much. The new owners were just too greedy!

Hate to say it but when people can’t afford the basics, paying above and beyond for cruelty free ethical this and that takes a back seat priority

They were bought by a german company who promissed to return it to former glory but just stripped thevassests and sold them to"an un named buyer for an un named sum" having done that they cant pay their bills so no done for.

I love body shop products but their prices got quite ridiculous over the years that was my reason for not buying from them anymore if they reduced their prices I reckon they would do very well but they chose to be expensive and now they will go into administration I hope they work it out because they are a unique brand and their white musk is legit one of the best ever
