Roller Coaster Staircase - 'Tiger and Turtle Magic Mountain' - Duisburg Germany

If you're scared of roller coasters then this could be the solution for you! This walking rollercoaster is located in Duisburg, Germany and allows visitors to walk around the 220 metre long circuit featuring 249 steps. Standing 85 metres above sea level, the landmark offers spectacular views of the surrounding area.

Created as a piece of art by Ulrich Genth and Heike Mutter, the name Tiger and Turtle represents the rollercoaster speed of a tiger but the turtle pace of the visitor who has to traverse the sculpture on foot.

Very cool yet disappointing.... The LOOP portion could’ve simply had a spiral staircase at the halfway point going up and again on the other side for going down. C’mon guys!

Can you walk the whole thing? Or is it two halves separated by a loop? I know you can't go over it, but I also didn't see a way to continue past the loop ... like you have to walk back to start, approach the loop from the other side, and then walk back from there, too.

They should make it one-way, with steps for all the incline sections, slides for all the decline sections!

So what do you do when you reach the loop? You have to walk back to the beginning and then walk the rest of the coaster from there until you reach the other side of the loop and then return again to the beginning?

So if you can’t walk the loops how to you get around them/to the other side? Or do you just walk back the way you came?

They could have added a keyhole slot railing that a waist/shoulder harness locked into at the loop. After all...both Lionel Richie and Peter Gabriel walked upside down and they were singing at the time. I'm sure the designers considered this until they spoke to the personal injury lawyers who were ALL in favor.
