Me getting a puppy: ...
Her: YOU WILL BE HOUSE BOUND
Me: Finally the pros to quarantine

Worst part is we were planing to get a puppy even without the lockdown but the lockdown made it impossible to find dogs. We found a puppy eventually though. :)

All this is true lol. Even though my puppy was super cute, the first 3 weeks were miserable. He bit everything, ate anything, wouldn't listen, and peed everywhere. He's 5 months now and my bestest friend. My depression and anxiety has all about vanished after the first month. He's the best cuddle buddy, silliest goofball, and friendliest pup I've ever met. I love him so much.

When I got my dog, for the first 3 months I was like: why I got her. But right now my dog is 7 years old and I would not be able to live without her.

If you take water away a few hours before bed and then take them out right before bed and then put them in crate to sleep you and then right away in the morning you won't have those middle of the night potty break

Not only with a puppy, when you get dog, your live will revolve around them. I live alone so I have to plan everything I do around his schedule. He is almost 4 yrs old so he can stay alone, but not all day. It takes planning :) and sacrifices. But the love you get.. that is special :)

She is ADORABLE !!!! For your downstairs crate, make sure you are leaving it open when you are hanging out watching TV. Keep the crate where you are, don't put it in another area where the puppy may feel that it's being segregated. We had the problem with our dog, he wouldn't get NEAR his crate because I had it in the to her room. I moved it to our family room where we watch TV and hang out the most and I actually got in the crate and shut the door so he could see it's ok to go in. That very night, we were watching TV and he went in and laid down on his own. They learn to really love it

I live with a persian cat, she's 19 months now, I don't remember my life before her, she's the best girl in the world! I wanted a cat ALL my life, and finally at 43 I found my precious girl! My life now is full of joy (and hair everywhere)!

It’s a 13-15 year commitment. Crazy expensive vet bills. I have an English bulldog so ya it’s an expense but I ♥️ him

I have three dogs, and I agree with this. Especially being up in the middle of the night. It's very common to regret buying a puppy at first, but that goes away once routines are established and everything settles down.

A blanket over their crate is a life saver! Takes my 12 week puppy 5 minutes to quiet down/ fall asleep, but if i don’t have a blanket over it he will cry for 30+ minutes

I think some people stress the hard parts and responsibilities of having a puppy too much and then others stress the happy go-lucky side too much, but I think you did a really good job with balancing the two. This was very helpful! I’m getting my miniature schnauzer in 2 weeks and am excited because I’ve been wanting a puppy my whole life!
