Frankie Lymon and The Teenagers - Teenage Love (Stereo Version)

Here's the rare stereo version that was only released on this early 80's Murray Hill 45. This 45 was not sold as a single but was included in the Teenagers box set on Murray Hill. The story goes that the Murray Hill engineers wrapped two different takes on the right and left channels to make this stereo version, but it all syncs up too perfectly. I'm skeptical and think that George Goldner was experimenting with stereo, but unless I speak with the Murray Hill engineer that did this it's impossible to know.

These young fellows had vocal and harmonising skills of singers far beyond their years. Some years ago I heard a rocking live version of "Why do Fools Fall in Love" complete with brass instruments which I thought was the best version that I've ever heard but I've never been able to find it again. Frankie really was a special talent and I've never seen anyone on "The X Factor" come close to him.

Doesn't synch quite as well as "Juvenile Delinquent, " but I agree, great to hear the Teenagers' backing vocals pretty much on their own

Sorry to be the party popper, but this is NOT a rare stereo version, I'm 99.9% sure that this is a synch between the mono hit and an alternate or an undub/overdub mix. The pan from left to right and vice-versa, is exactly the result of folks who try to synch the channels in a "stereo Illusion" but have problems to keep both channels aligned. The mono hit version is on the left channel and the alternate on the right channel. Lately,   I have found two slight different mixes beside the one you hear it on the right channel and I will mix them, so I will get 2 or 3 different "stereo" mixes of this track.

Just listened to a mono post and noticed quite a bit of echo on that one...this sounds quite a bit purer,

Morris Levy had nothing to do with the composition of this song. He did however, collect the royalties.
