Meiosis (Meiotic cell division) vs Mitosis | The M Phase of thr cell cycle | MCAT Biology...The cell cycle is divided into an interphase (G0, G1 and G2 phases) and a Mitosis phase (M Phase).

Mitosis (M) phase is divided into prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase. They end in cytokinesis (cell separation).

What's the difference between Mitosis and Meiosis?

Something is not matching. You are saying that a gamete has 23 haploid chromatids (I) while actually drawing diploid chromatids (II).

Thank you so much, this is very helpful! I am however, confused by the drawing in minute 4:00. Meiosis1 ends with 2 haploid daughter cell and the drawing shows that there is one chromosome (from the homologous pair) in each cell. But then meiosis2 begins with a haploid daughter cells that now contain 2 chromosomes.

just a little suggestion if noticed. As there are so many things going on prophase I . It shall be differentiated in further phases

Thank you, This was fascinating. Genetics is fascinating to me.About 25 years ago I was involved in a criminal case that was an old unsolved case, examining mitochondrial DNA of a thirty year old infant, in an effort to determine the identity of the mother.

Hello Medicosis, Hope you're doing well.
I've been watching a bunch of your videos lately and I've really been enjoying them a lot, thank you for such amazing quality content. I was wondering if you'd ever make more videos on the topic of electrolytes and acid-base, because that playlist was really helpful to me and I'd really love to learn more on that topic from you. thank you for everything you do.

In meiosis 2
The staring cell condition is haploid form.... I mean in haploid form nucles there should be only one chromosome i. E with 2 sister chromatids....
But suddenly why u showed daughter cell of reduction division as with 2 chromosomes with 4 sister chromatids

My mnemonic for the cell phases is corny but works for me.

What is diploid '2n' ? What is haploid 'n'? Dose it mean 1 chromosome with a chromatid OR 1 chromisome with 2 chromatids ? What is the meaning of pairs of chromisome??? Thank you Dr Medicosis
