Making Olive Oil in Kefalonia, Greece

In late 2016, I was invited by a friend of mine to visit her in Greece. We spend a few days in Athens and the surrounding area, before we made our way to Kefalonia (formerly known as Itaka).

We got to spend an entire day with the local farmers to pick, sort and eventually press the olives into extra virgin olive oil!

See this is much cleaner than the ones I’ve seen in Morocco. Although Moroccan olive oil is highest in polyphenols due to the harsh growing conditions.
