@CallBoxLive I had another look at some random files. They all seem to be inconsistent with file size ratio. Some have been 1:1 and others are way bigger. I noticed that the biggest file size increase comes when Final Cut Pro X transcodes it (so it runs better) where I have seen file sizes go from 20mb to 165mb. That is for the High quality media it calls it which is the pro res 422. The 444 proxy is only a little more than the original. Hard drive space is not cheap anymore. They all went up.

hey. have you looked into the cctv lenses. Pentax has some really fast lenes that if you modify them work very well with the crop mode of the GH2

@CallBoxLive To respond to your other points, I cant agree that this camera is cheap. Its an excellent camera and maybe its good value for what you get, but its not cheap. Its a little out of the range I want to spend and I have generous €700 to spend too. I'll certainly look into getting the Atomos thing you mentioned. Is it an app or what is it?

i got a cheapo fujian 35mm 1.7 c-mount lens from ebay. works great. wery little distortion and great iq . onley bad thing is the color reproduction. but for less then £40 you cant go wrong

How do you get around the AVCHD format for video editing? Its a shame this camera doesn't have mp4 1080p instead

Thanks man... quick question. I went to Sammy's looking for an adaptor and the sales guy freaked on me. He took out an adaptor and we did a test with 4 lenses. 2 showed immediate incompatibility errors. An friend asked me if I TURNED OFF a specific function on the GH2 that could be causing that error and NOT allowing some lenses to work properly. Is there such a function on the camera and where would it be??? Thanks for any thoughts on this.

@CallBoxLive I use FCPX and it wants to transcode/convert all of those files into files 8-10 times bigger than the original size. In fact if I dont transfer direct from my camera it wont import them at all for some reason. AVCHD is good for storage on the card itself, but is a nightmare after that. Its my biggest put off with this camera. I love the size of this camera and what it can produce, but if something is going to cause this much trouble then is it worth it?

Total noob here.
I have recently bought a GH2 and have the Konica Hexanon AR 57mm with a Konica to M4/3 adapter.
Its all working OK, but do I need to set anything on the GH2 for the manual lens,
like Shoot W/O Lens? or focus priority? and do I set the ISO manually?
Basically I want the GH2 to be set so that the manual aperture settings etc.. are not interfered with by the Gh2 itself.
