The Opera House was completed in the early 1960's. Before the Opera House was built, Fort Macquarie actually sat on that site and Fort Macquarie was also used as the Sydney tram depot. The trams in that area ceased running in 1958. Thanks for sharing the tour, it is the first Opera House tour for me as well. I never got the chance to tour the Opera House years ago, when living in Sydney.

When first seeing the Opera House being built as a child, the unfinished sails at the time had me thinking that three large ships had crashed in Sydney Harbour and were all upended and sinking.
