This time I made Egyptian Khopesh which is based on similar one found in Tutankhamun's tomb. I only added those spirals near the handle.

Don't whine about the Arabian music in Egyptian era video,
I am really sorry but Tutankhamun forgot to bring his hard disc with Egyptian music on it :/

I used white oak wood, but I wouldn't recommend it because it is very porous and it has screwed up grain. I would usually use beech but I wanted to test white oak in this video.

I used gold spray and then painted it with aquarel (water colors), when paint is fully dry wet a piece of towel paper and remove as you see fit. If you remove too much re-apply aquarel again ;)

I hope you liked it, see you with the next project soon :D

Beautiful piece! In ancient Greece there was a sword called Copis with design similarities with this one. That curve on the blade was really useful for down strokes and was used from the cavalry! The word "kopi" means "cut" in Greek. Don't know which civilization invented it first but definitely Greeks and Egyptians always shared cultural stuff with each other! Great video man! This one spoke to my heart! :)

I like how you made it look like actual bronze

LOL'd at the scroll saw, that happens to me every damn time. I like this sword too, I made miniature version to use as a letter opener a few months back. All of the tiny curves were challenging, it required a lot of hand sanding. Beautiful work as always, love the attention to detail and weathering.

Hi Morris beautiful sword.
And i really like how it looked after you put the green/blue painting on and rubbed it away

Dude this is so cool!!! You should make the blade with the tang again, and then use it to cast a bronze sword! Maybe embed it between two blocks of clay with a bit of oil to not make it stick, let it dry and then take out the wooden mock-up and then pour bronze in, that was a method used back in the day. Would be an epic project!

Nice. Its good to see some of the underappreciated weapons from history get some love.

Maybe something like a Falchion or Messer would be a cool build. Or better still, do both in one video as they are sister weapons. If you look into the Elmslie Typology you can get a good grasp of their variety.

Can you make a sword with a hard wood and make it able to cut stuff (like paper and softer materials)? It would be interesting to see you try it at least.

I'm not really into the Egyptian stuff, but the sword looks amazing, especially the painting. You can read it always, but feedback is the most important, so excellent work, can't wait for your next video!
