HOW I FINISH SO MANY MAKEUP EMPTIES - what is project pan and why do I do it?

Sometimes I get this question, so it's time to answer it and talk about why I do it and why it's so effective. I pan dozens of makeup products every year, and it's all down to my project pan!

I watch a lot of makeup reviews before purchasing. Now I am able to fit all of my makeup in a small travel bag. I empty it out onto my bed every morning, and i use every product. I actually look forward to it because every product is so amazing; i spent a lot of time into making sure I'd feel that way about each one. And I'm not going to purchase anything else until I "hit pan"! I feel great about it!

I have always done this. I dislike spending money on make up that I won’t ever wear so I just don’t. I go through everything I buy, as a result.

I did a no buy for about 3 years. I have now found 3 products that I refuse to look for replacements for. I will rebuy that same product once it runs out. I plan to do this will all products and then allow 2-3 additional providers of like blush or lipstick for variation.

Love panning products. I got super excited today because I hit pan on one of my powders in my Hourglass holiday palette from idk what year (the one that had the double size pan of infinity powder). I’ve been keeping the palette in my purse and using it to get ready for workdays. ❤I love using up my products! So satisfying.

At the beginning of the year, you can also set aside a bag or something and when you finish a product, put the empty container in the bag. In December, look at the progress you made.

Girliepop, you can add a drop of contact lenses solution in your dried up but not empty mascaras and brow gels :)

I’m so confused. I love makeup. I’ve been wearing it almost every day for 17 years and I’ve never had this problem.

For me, each product is like toothpaste or deodorant. I don’t buy a new one until I’m almost out of the old one. Is this not how everyone does it?

I also do this! But then I like a product so much that I have to keep a tiny bit incase I need to use it at some point 😅 I have so many that are so close to being done but have maybe two uses left, I just can’t bring myself to use them fully up.

Is the blush you hit pan on called prim? Because I have a tarte blush that I also hit pan on a tarte blush that I love and looks like the one you have!

I have so many cream blushes and bronzers. How do I finish them all? I’m scared they’ll go bad or dry up
