The fact that he actually DOESN'T tell them he loves them to their faces somehow makes this even more powerful. Mr. Feeny is as loving as he can be, but he never actually breaks the professional line. Mr. Feeny is the ultimate teacher.

To watch them all grow from kids to adults was honestly one of the best parts of this show. I feel like its rare for TV shows these days to keep kids after they reach a certain look/age but we got all these great characters from 6th grade through college. What a journey. Made saying goodbye so hard.

I was like 11 when this happened. As a kid I never understood why they were so emotional, Feeny lives next door to Corey’s parents. It’s not like they’ll never see him again, or so I thought.
I’m now 32 and it really hits that even if you see people once in awhile they aren’t a daily part of your life anymore.

Here I am a 40 year old dad balling my eyes out seeing this scene again. I grew up with these people and it's a weird time being right around the half way point of the age of when Corey and everyone said goodbye (18) and being the same age as Mr. Feeney (65). They don't make shows like this anymore. They don't have characters that could be a mentor for you and teach you powerful life lessons (Mr. Feeney, the Matthews, Mr Turner). The world is so filled with hate now and so much of the media we consume fuels the hate.

God knows we could use more shows like this in our lives.
