And the surrounding states governors, MD and VA, were trying to send their state's militia to the Capitol, but no one was answering them. That needs to be added to the hearings. I know I was calling my VA governor 's office requesting they send people to help the Capitol police.

I had no idea Senator McConnell (R-KY) was such a good actor! It almost sounded like he _cared_ about the "people's business", when, in fact, he's one of the chief supporters of all this MAGA/Drumpf madness and seems to think his job is to block any Democrat Bill, no matter how much it might benefit "the people".

It's outstanding that McConnell, Schumer and Pelosi were adamant about finishing the work of the people, and that they were pressing to get the Chambers cleared as quickly as possible. It absolutely appears, that in that moment, McConnell was DONE with Trump's crap and wanted to stamp 'finished' on his presidency, once and for all.

I was watching live from Australia on Jan 6. I remember feeling terrified for all the people at work in the building that day. And I was afraid for what would happen to the US and the wider world if the US congress collapsed. I also could not help but think how easy it would be for someone from any other terrorist group to walk on in behind the maga insurrectionists and just blow themselves up. Trump not only put the whole Congress and VP at risk from his violent mob but also left them completely exposed to any other opportunistic terrorists. It still seems like a small miracle to me that there was not many more lives lost that day.

Those who can’t wait till 2024 to vote for Trump, should head to Hungary, Russia, North Korea, Cuba, Brazil, Venezuela or China. There are other demagogues to vote there.
