Can we take a moment to thank her a thousand times because telling these stories is a retraumatization having to defend yourself from racist attacks and then relive the story over and over again so that people understand what it's like is deeply emotionally exhausting. Thank you Amber you're amazing!

I've been driving around with some of my black friends and a few times we've been pulled over. Almost every time, the cop comes up, starts his racist crap and then see me and suddenly does a 180. I've had several times when a cop has flat out asked me "are you alright sir?" while I've been sat in the passenger seat. SIR? Really? My friend is getting grilled and you're trying to make sure the poor white guy isn't being kidnapped or something?

I still remember one time when a cop pulled us over, asked my friend the old "do you know how fast you were going?" bit (even though we clearly weren't speeding, especially as we'd had several cars zip past us at way over the limit that the cops clearly ignored). I lean over (in all my glorious whiteness to blind the cop of course) and say that we were doing 58 according to the digital speedometer (it was a 60 zone). And the cop actually paused, stared at me for a second, and said "that's good, this are has a lot of speeders, please be safe" and then left.

The complete change cops have when they see a white person in the car (that is dressed "respectfully") is insane and really offensive.

I got questioned by a white cop in a suburban park at like 7pm for 'selling drugs' to my black girlfriend (and future/current wife). Literally sitting on a park bench holding hands.

You're right Amber, we're from all over the world. I'm from and live in Italy, I'm a civil rights activist and I'm protesting in my country for non-discrimination of black people in the US and worldwide. Love you for your writing since I've known you in this show and I appreciate you even more for this segment.

Amber, I'd like you to know that the protest I went to in Bangor Maine was almost entirely white folks who will no longer sit silently and allow this. It's important we hear your stories so thank you for them.
Edit. Yes most of the people here are white. That's why most of us were white for everyone who keeps mentioning it.
