As a trucker myself, this driver was following too closely on wet roads with rain.

Personally, I would've left more room for the car in front of me and I would've been slowing down already for that extremely stale green light.

I got a ticket for going through a yellow that barely just changed. Judge said it's not my problem if someone is going to rear end me, I need to try to stop.

It's literally part the the CDL test to slow down for stale green lights.... for this EXACT reason.

There was also a cop to the left, that’s when the cars started to slow down, that’s when the trucker should have pumped the brakes. He wanted to make that light though. Not worth the stress. Pay attention and be more aware. Number of factors plagued this accident before it occurred.
