Determine the components of reaction at the bearings if the rod is subjected to the force F

Support:

The bent rod is supported at A, B, and C by smooth
journal bearings. Determine the components of reaction at
the bearings if the rod is subjected to the force F = 800 N.
The bearings are in proper alignment and exert only force
reactions on the rod.

Hey, you forgot to divide the 100 by 0.125 to find Az. Love the videos!

hi, how do you figure out the signs for the reaction moments? Like what you do at 3:50 ish.

Why did he not include Cx as part of the moment along the z axis?

Hey, on the moment equation about the y-axis, how did you get Cx(2m)? The moment arm perpendicular the line of the action of that force seems to be coming from the x-axis. Is the y-axis projected onto the x axis?

By his equation 4 when you plug in az=100 you don’t get 600 for by so what’s going on here buddy

Wouldn't the Journal Bearings exert COUPLE MOMENTS in the off axis direction of each bearing?, giving us 12 unknowns?

When you subtract -346.41+100= -246.41
- 246.41÷0.125

ig he also forgot to mention 2(cx) in moment mz cuz its also causing moment

Warning: his moment equations are incorrect, if you backtrack and do the math using his equations you get a different answer from what he put. He's using the answers from the back of the textbook to get the answers you see on screen. Don't trust his method.
