I’m really happy that I’ve been seeing a lot of posts from super supportive people really trying to make sure everybody doesn’t DO it. It’s hurting a lot of folks right now (me included, but nowhere as much as it’s affecting others). Just check up on your friends and family for a bit and everyone stay safe please. I'm australian, but watching my american friends realise they're screwed, all of rhem being from a marginalised group in some way, has been really hard? Like at least if democrats won, the right wouldn't be fearing for their lives or worried about having their citizenships stripped from them, even if they were born in the country.
I've got a lot of europeans friends as well in the friend group, and almost all my american friends are planning on applying for visas and figuring out which friend they'll stay with until they're on their feet. I've even got a few friends asking me about our immigration process here in aus.

It's a bit fucked? Like wow, people have to make eacape plans for this now.
