Purchased Husky Coin Grey Flooring and decided to use this instead of the Diamond Plate Flooring in my Current Food Truck. It looks great so far.

Whenever I spread glue for floors, I find it easiest to pour out a big blob of glue and then just push it around with the trowel. The grooves in the trowel leave just the right amount of glue when you push it firmly into the surface while holding the trowel at around a 45 degree angle. That's what those grooves are designed for. When you get to the end, just use the trowel to lift any excess glue and put it back in the container.

Also, instead of doing a couple feet at a time, it is easiest to just glue the entire half of the floor and then lift the flooring and slowly roll it out, pushing it down with your feet as you go.

Further, instead of trying to use that little hand roller, most equipment rental shops should be able to rent you a 100 lb flooring roller. That makes easy work of the majority of the floor, then you can use your hand roller for the edges. It also saves your knees, since you push it while standing. That entire floor could be glued, rolled out, and trimmed in about an hour.

One final tip is to keep a bottle of charcoal lighter fluid and a rag handy to clean up any excess glue. It cleans it up, and leaves a bit of oily film on the surface to reduce the chances that the glue will re-adhere strongly while you are wiping with a glue filled rag. This oily film will come up easily when you do your final cleaning, after there is no danger of spreading glue everywhere. Put the fluid on the rag, not the floor, because you don't want it seeping underneath the flooring and damaging the effectiveness of the glue.

Thank you so much for this video. I just stumbled upon you today. I tell you what. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I just started my bus tear down yesterday and I can already tell it’s gonna be a journey. Again I do thank you.

Thank you so very much for taking the time to teach in these videos. I totally appreciate it. I just wanted to comment on laying down a floor for best cleanliness. I have worked in Pharmaceuticals for 27 years now and know what they do to ensure best cleanliness in the manufacturing areas. Just like you have done, one piece is best. However, what is done in Pharma is to run that one piece up the wall by a good 4 inches and create seams in corners. Then, that sealant bead would be at the top of the end 4 inches up the wall. You would clue the wall floor rise to the wall. This way you can clean with wet mop and no leaks can happen as there is no sealant on the floor level. If the sealant wears out as it will you don't need to watch it as diligently since the seal is 4 inches up the wall. I know it's not pharmaceutical manufacturing but is a good practice. Just sharing! Keep up the good work. I'll be watching all your videos as I work to build out my own trailer to save money. Could you please do a video on the electrical where you take it all the way and attached the cables? Please!

I love your videos. I’ve learned a lot. I did want to throw out a suggestion for the flooring; and, that is to use a scribe to mark the rounded nose of the trailer and then use tin snips to cut it. Also, what about renting a heavy roller from HD used for installing vinyl flooring? I’ve subscribed to your awesome channel; but, how do I watch all of them in order?

If you do it again try putting the floor down first then the walls. You may need to protect while complete if the build. Awesome job sir!

This floor it’s industrial grade, it will last as long as you lay your heavy wax, and strip/ wax as needed, just make sure this floor uses a special wax different than VCT flooring, if I recalled it’s Minwax .

It's best to buy coin flooring with felt backing. The cheap stuff has no backing and can delaminate in hot conditions. I learned this the hard way.

Possible idea for your next installation in a Food Truck... Do the flooring cut before you put the walls up, this way you can cut the flooring closer to the wall a little, and then when you set in the wall, the wall will cover up the cut lines, and you won't scuff or scrape the SS wall. Thoughts?

Can you use commercial vinyl baseboard around the flooring to give you a better seal?

Did it end up being too much glue?
Could I do glue in the 4 corners and make an X in the middle to meet the corners with the adhesive and will that be enough rather than gluing the whole floor?

Planning ahead. Do you think you could put the vinyl flooring down but leave it long up the wall then place wall material over vinyl? Kind of like a membrane in a shower pan?

Do you need to PROVIDE A 3/8” RADIUS AT THE JUNCTURE OF THE FLOOR AND EQUIPMENT/WALL, EXTENDING UP AT LEAST 4” looking over our plan check and we got that back as a change.

First off, THANK YOU for your videos! They are teaching us so much as I convert a trailer for my wife's business. Haven't watched them all but we're going to. I have a couple of ignorant questions: 1) Why don't you just lap the flooring up the wall a few inches to avoid the silicone corner sealant? I've seen it done before - just don't know how well it worked or if you had a specific reason for not doing that. 2) What was the outcome at the end with glue? Was it too thick like you noted? How did the rest of it go or did you find a solution to the "bubbling"? Thanks!

hey man at the end off the video where you put the glue the floor was looking weird, you never said what happened with that, I'm about to do my floor the same way and I'm wondering I should glue the vinyl to flor or not..
