'Putin using winter as a weapon of war' in Ukraine says NATO secretary general - BBC News

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has said Russian President Vladimir Putin is using "winter as a weapon of war" against Ukraine.

Speaking at a meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Romania, the secretary general said "Putin is failing in Ukraine" and is responding with "brutality" by attacking gas, electricity and water infrastructure across the country.

The meeting will discuss NATO members increasing military and non-lethal aid, such as fuel and materials to help Ukrainians heading into the colder months.

To us, in Serbia in 1999, NATO generals explained that the destruction of power grids, refineries and bridges is useful for us. The military uses it all.
Show a war in which no civilians are killed. Civilians help the military.

It is entirely legitimate for Russia to use all means at their disposal to "encourage" unfriendly nations to accept Russia's security demands, including nuclear if all other options fail to do the job.

NATO has just figured this out - where have they been for the last 2 months? I guess they had to make a decision to have a committe meeting to decide in order for intelligence analysts to assess russian actions, then allowing a report to be compiled which would need to be discussed before a select group of high level political anaylsts on whether or not NATO should publically state the obvious.

An important issue is NATO. It is the main part of this problem since most of its countries are sending many weapons to Ukraine which is increasing the rate of war and causing many damages
