How to Add 3/4 + 1/8 (3/4 Plus 1/8 )
Показать описание
In this video we will add the fractions 3/4 and 1/8. First we need to find a common denominator both 3/4 and 1/8. Once we have a common denominator, we can easily find the sum by of the fractions by adding the numerators while keeping the denominator the same.
Step 1: Find a common denominator.
In order to add two fractions, the fractions must have a common denominator. To find a common denominator, you need to identify the least common multiple (LCM) of the denominators of the fractions.
Note that the lowest common multiple (LCM) is also called the lowest common denominator (LCD). You can find the LCM for and by listing all the multiples for 4 and 8. Then you select the lowest number that is the same for both numbers.
Step 2: Convert the fractions to have the same denominator.
If we look at the multiples of 4 and 8, we'll find that both 4 and 8 can be divided evenly into 4. So 4 is the lowest common denominator. We multiply the 3/4 by 8/8 to get 8/4. Then we multiply the 1/8 by 4/4 to get 4/4. We can now add these together to get 12/4.
Step 3: Add the numerators.
Once the fractions have the same denominator, you can add the numerators together. Add the numerators and keep the common denominator.
