24 Hours in Portland Oregon (Perfect Summer Day)

Portland Oregon seems to always be getting a bad rep in the news media, but we’re here to set the record straight! We ‘lived’ in the gorgeous city of Portland for about a month, and today we’re taking you around some of the highlights of the City of Roses!

The Pacific Northwest (PNW) is at its most beautiful in the summertime and Portland, Oregon is no exception. The weather is perfect and everything is green. It’s no wonder why it seems like every single person in Portland is outside enjoying the day, every day.

Portland, OR is known for its coffee scene and we begin our day with a unique coffee stop. Climb aboard a vintage double-decker bus and transport yourself to Egypt for some truly unique caffeine experiences! Tov Coffee is serving Egyptian and Turkish-style coffee and it was the perfect way to get going for a day around Portland.

Another thing that seems to be a trend in Portland are donuts! There are donut shops literally all around town, the most famous being VooDoo Donuts. We skipped that tourist staple and opted to check out Blue Star Donuts as well as the vegan donut shop, Doe Donuts. What’s the best donut in Portland? You’ll have to see!

A classic stop on any Portland itinerary is Waterfront Park near downtown. If you’re in Portland on a Saturday you have to check out the Portland Saturday Market. This sprawling outdoor affair is full of food from around the world and vendors selling all kinds of wares!

After at vegan taco lunch at a food pod (a must-do!), we hop over to Washington Park to visit the International Rose Test Garden. Portland is known as the City of Roses and you’ll soon see why!

Finally, we enjoy a quiet moment under the Redwood trees near the Redwood Observation Deck before calling it a day. Give Portland a chance - it’s so much more than what you’ve heard and seen in other videos!

We hope you enjoyed our Portland travel vlog. As always, we’ll see you in our next video as we KEEP GOING PLACES!

I live 20 minutes outside of the city… there are lots of nice areas/places/things to do in Portland, but the city is also rife with problems at this time. I’m largely a “focus on the positive” kind of guy (which, there are lots of positives to Portland), but we as a society also need to make a collective decision to work together to solve our numerous issues. With that said, I’m very glad that you highlighted the nice things that Portland has to offer, and I’m also very glad that you guys enjoyed yourselves!

Great video and thanks for not over dramatizing our city’s problems. We need more videos like this!

Thanks for doing Portland right. I lived there for year's and now I'm just across the river in Vancouver. Other famous YouTubers I follow have been there recently and only focused on everything they didn't like.without bothering to understand why things were why they were

I’ve lived in Portland for almost 12 years, and the Portland that’s in the news is actually very rare. It’s Downtown and I go down there almost every day and I have never seen anything bad. It’s quite peaceful but it’s true that the novelties wear off.

If you have been around Portland for years, there is no comparison in terms of quality of life. Friends who have visited the last couple of years after a 5 or 6 year absence, were shocked. Crime is up- way up. Murders are up over 80% year over year. Homeless camps all over, needles and shit on the sidewalk. I have been a booster of Portland in the past so I certainly have no ax to grind, but denial will not fix the festering sore that much of Portland has become. It's sad sight, but there is little hope of change without a change in leadership in the city.

It’s not a real portland experience until you get off the Max at Union Station to witness a homeless chick finishing off a crap in the bushes. True story.

I live in PDX. So glad y'all visit the city. Pips donuts are also another great place. Personally, I don't like voodoo. The food carts here are insane. Wish you guys were able to visit the Japanese or the Chinese gardens but those cost money.

Live in this city I’m 14 and I have liked growing up here and I’m going to enjoy the next for years of childhood I have left here. Then when I’m 18 And I graduate high school I’m going to college in Los Angeles or San Francisco! Anyway the news try’s to make it seem like Portland is horrible which yea there is a homeless problem but that’s in most cities in the USA . It’s overall a good place to live with good food good culture according to some people in my family it has good night life and it’s pretty safe.

As someone who lives RIGHT by the waterfront near the pearl I have NO IDEA how you managed to get footage without all the tents.... They were definitely here a year ago so you must have some godly editing skills. You two are nice though! Nice video an good shots of the good areas of Portland!

Hi guys 👋 - Looks like good timing in avoiding the two heatwaves in Portland. Love the ☕ & 🍩. The 🌹 looked prime & the 🌮 inspired an afternoon siesta. Great showcase of the city. 👍

You should check out Government Camp mid week in the off-season and to meet the workers when they aren’t stressed out then see what it’s like on a busy weekend. Great village and an hour from Portland.

"it's gone" is a common theme in downtown Portland.

On behalf of all the kind people that live in the area is like to apologise for the all the angry ranters leaving comments on your video. Clearly some people can't handle that you like a place they don't and I hope it doesn't ruin anything for you

That first old fashion donut looked fantastic. My type of breakfast. Portland's gotten some not so great press so glad to see this side of the city. And to end the day with donuts is simply over the top. Also not sure how you get a vegan donut but hey I'd eat one.
