Hey guys, how's it going Today we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Optronics Trailer Light Kit for trailers over 80 inches wide. So this particular kit here is gonna be a complete full on overhaul for your trailer. It's gonna come with a number of different components such is the tail lights, which we see here. One for the driver's side, one for the passenger side. The one for the driver's side, the taillight's gonna be a little bit different. There's actually gonna be a clear panel at the bottom of our taillight here with a light that shines through that'll illuminate our license plate light.

It's also gonna come with the bracket which sandwiches behind the trailer mounting bracket and our tail light to provide an attachment point for our license plate. Also in our kit here we're gonna get two side marker lights with this nice chrome bezel you can see here. We're also gonna get two reflectors which you can see here. So then the last two things we get we're gonna get a trailer connector for the vehicle side which is the one here with the shorter lead. Then we'll also gonna get the longer one for the trailer side.

This particular harness here is gonna come with a 25 foot lead. So all of our lights here are gonna be waterproof meaning they can be submerged in water. So they're gonna be a perfect addition for your boat trailer which is actually what we have them installed on here. So as you can notice our actual taillights they're gonna be pretty good size. They're pretty long this way.

And the reason for this is they're actually gonna be designed for trailers over 80 inches wide. Now certain DOT regulations require taillights to be a certain size when your trailer is over a certain width. So you can definitely use these on the smaller trailers but they're also gonna allow you to remain legal with your wider trailers. So in regards to installation this kit is definitely made for designed rather for you guys to be able to install it at home by yourselves. We really don't need any specialized tools and the kit is gonna come with everything we need.

That's one of the reasons I really like this particular kit here is that it's all inclusive. It comes with everything down to the stainless steel fasteners we're gonna need to use to attach. We will mind you have to drill a couple holes into the trailer frame but it's really not gonna be super hard. There's only gonna be a couple for each of our lights. So let's go ahead and jump into that installation now so we can show you guys how it's done. So the first step of our installation we're gonna install and secure our trailer connector along with part of our wiring harness. Now you're gonna get two different trailer connectors in your kit here. You're gonna get a vehicle side and you're gonna get a trailer side. The trailer side one is obviously gonna be the one with the longer harness. So you can see here, we have quite a bit of extra wire. So what we need to do now is we need to go ahead and find the end of our wires. We're gonna have two sides, one with a green and brown, one with a yellow and brown. And we need to run this back to each of our tail lights. Now, in order to do that here on our boat trailers most boat trailers we're gonna have this straight pull tongue here. It's gonna be hollowed out. And this is what we're gonna be able to use to run our wire back to the tail lights. In order to do that before you rip out your existing wiring we can actually use this to help route the wire through the frame here. Now I went ahead and cut off the trailer connector that was on there, but this is gonna be the factory harness that runs through the channel of our tubing here. So what I'm gonna do before we completely remove that is I'm gonna take some electrical tape and I'm simply gonna tie these two wires here onto this wire. And the reason I'm gonna do that is we're gonna secure these wires to the existing wiring so then I can come underneath the trailer. I can find the other end of our factory harness and I can pull it through that way which is gonna bring our new harness into the frame here. So here we can see where the channel of our frame opens up and we had the factory harness. Now we have the same two connectors that we seen earlier. We have the yellow and brown wire, we have the green and brown wire. I went ahead and already cut those from behind the tail lights. So I didn't have to worry about those but basically what I'm gonna do now is I'm just gonna pull our factory wire, pull t
