Adhesion of epoxy to metal is vastly improved if you abrade or sandblast the surfaces. A rough surface presents a larger surface area and irregularities for the epoxy to hold onto. It still needs the cleaning!

when you attached the transducer to the container with the epoxy, what did you do with the screw that came along the transducer, did you use it (screw it) or not (let that place empty without the screw)

Is it possible to dissolve solutions using this device?

for a good gluing process its not always advisable to press the glue from between the surfaces, often thin wires (0, 05...0, 1mm) are used to secure a thicknes of glue, this leads a better even force distribution, also should the can bottom be supported from the underside, otherwise you put stress in the glued surfaces which leads to distortions
