Loops & Threads - Cactus Punch Needle Kit

Trying out a cactus punch needle kit.

Materials needed:
Scissors
Fabric glue (optional)

Notes: Follow the instructions! Also make sure you set aside plenty of time to separate the strands of embroidery floss. Overall I like this kit a lot, I’d love to try it again to see how it turns out when following the instructions more closely.

So glad I found this video... Just got two of these from Michael's. The embroidery floss panda and a larger yarn rainbow one, and two different size punches. So far I'm noticing the embroidery one is a lot Easier than the one using the yarn (i also noticed that the larger punch is a bit broken so that may be why I'm having some problems. Your video really helped clear up some things! And yes, I found no need for a window to see the lines. Fun little time waster lol. I want to try a tufting gun to make a rug but figured I should start small😂

i wish there was a disclaimer in the beginning that she messed up because i was following along and now i messed my kit up!

They now sell a kit that includes the needle at Walmart, along with a llama design and a pineapple design. So, 3 in 1 designs and thread (only one hoop) plus 1 needle (two threaders).

The actual packaging seems unbranded, though the online listing chose it as "Janlynn". But the cactus design is exactly the same. It was $9.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but everytime I try to use the punch needle tool, it punches a big hole and the threads come right back out with it. 🤷🏼‍♀️
Any suggestions?

On the instructions it says Separate six strands into individual strands . Use two single strands at a time
